As we get ready for the summer season, our Vacation Rental Manager, Billie Archuleta, has been busy getting renters ready for their Galveston vacation. If you’ve been planning a vacation to Galveston, perhaps you have spoken to Billie.
When Billie first visited Galveston over 15 years ago, it was in a position of uncertainty. After her husband was laid off, she and her family traveled to Galveston for a brief reprieve. They immediately fell in love, and Galveston became the answer to their prayers. “We felt the Lord led us here,” she says.
They returned home to Pennsylvania, made the arrangements, and one year later, they returned to call Galveston home.
The Lord wasn’t done with them yet; in a new town and a new state, Billie prayed for a job that would accommodate her family’s schedule. She found one as the front desk receptionist at The House Company in 2005. After attending Galveston Community College’s real estate course, in September of 2006, she earned her real estate license.
Since then, her real estate career has given her not only the freedom to work and spend time with her family, but the opportunity to develop strong, meaningful relationships as well. “I completely love building relationships with owners and renters! Many of my repeat guests are friends on social media and they all have my cell number where they know they can call or text any time,” she says.
Among those repeat guests are her now-good friends from Baytown. What began as a client relationship turned into a long-lasting family friendship. Billie regularly rents to his children, and they look forward to seeing each other when they come to town. One time, Billie’s daughter even helped them with an emergency rental situation; they came into town on a cruise and needed housing, and Billie’s daughter happened to have a condo on the Strand, Galveston’s historic downtown, that she wasn’t using that weekend. “Just leave a tip,” Billie told him.
This level of service goes beyond her close friends; Billie loves that she has many guests that visit summer after summer, and they text her as they leave: “Be sure to book us again for next year!”
“It is fabulous!” Billie says.
Her career as a real estate agent has brought her friendships, fulfillment, and exciting family connections. She loves that her position has allowed her to help her daughter with her first home buying experience, and she cherishes each relationship that she has gained during her time at The House Company.
When you work with Billie, you can rest easy knowing that she will give you the VIP treatment. If you’re thinking about visiting Galveston this summer, give Billie a call! She’ll make sure that you are taken care of (“The list would be shorter if I stated what I don’t do for the company,” she jokes), and maybe you’ll find a new friendship along the way.
